Actually, there are only two 1955 Franklin halves, PR65, that sold for less than $50 with shipping, but it wasn't dramatically less than $50. One sold for $46.06 with $6.95 shipping, and the other for $47.50 with $2.50 shipping.

The rest of the completed, certified NGC & PCGS Franklin halves at PR65 sold for more than $50. So to say the OP overpaid is not accurate at all.

OK, the search I did only came up with three sold, One for 39.11 plus 6.95, one for 45.00 plus 2.50, and one for 63.00 plus 2.00. I never meant that all sold for less than $50. The point I was making is that if certified problem free PF 65 coins are selling for less than $50, the poster MAY have overpaid for an uncertified example that may be impaired.

Since the buyer pays for the shipping that's included in the buyers total cost for the coin.

I saw the one for $63, and there were a couple that went for $74 as well.

Still not a significant overpay by the OP for his.

The two that were listed for $74 didn't sell for that, they were best offer accepted but didn't say what it was. But without more info we really don't know, we don't really know what the posters coin really grades so we don't know if he did well or not. If it is a 65, no it wasn't significantly too much, the important thing is he got a coin he likes. I have actually knowingly spent more than going value for coins more than once, simply because it was what I wanted and didn't know when one would show up again. Sorry to the original poster if your topic drifted, glad you got a coin you like and post photos when you can.

Deep Cameo is easy to look for if you can photo them in black+white

True; however, it's reasonable to assume that since the seller was asking $74 in the initial posting of the item on a BIN, and accepted an offer, that said offer would more likely not be under $50.
