1960 D Silver Penny ?!

    1960 D Silver Toned Penny (?!)

    I found this and I am curious if it is a legitimate error?

    Looks like a normal 1960 D penny to me. Although hard to tell from the pics it does appear to be a small date 1960 d. Better close up pics of both sides would help.

    Rim looks quite large. Perhaps plated. Not too sure, but it looks off.

    It is plated and it is mounted in a bezel. It was once part of a piece of costume jewelry. You can see where the bezel was damaged on the reverse side down at 6:00 where it was pulled off.

    I agree.. Plated and mounted in a jewelry bezel is correct.
    Not a Mint Error.

    Thank you all for your input! I tried to get better pictures but it was difficult to get the right lighting and angle to properly capture the detail.
    I’m new to this community, but I have been collecting coins since I was a kid. I’m happy to have received all your responses and looking forward to sharing and learning more on this site!
