About 4 years ago I bought 2 mint sets; '60-D and '63-D just because. Package came, and I stuck it in a drawer without even opening it, and then it was forgotten. Last night I was cleaning out said drawer, came across the package, and said "What the heck is this?". Opened it, and looked for FBL, FS, and FB. The only coin that is close, is the below '60-D Rosie, and I also think it may be the 1960-D/D 10C FS-501. If it is what I think, I did well. So you dimes guys, I ask you Is it Full Split Bands (or will it pass PCGS for FB)? Is it D/D 501 Grade Your input is greatly appreciated, as I'm thinking I'll send it in the PCGS. One Obverse view, 3 Reverse for different lighting angles to possibly help with seeing the D/D, still in the OGP;
"The Roosevelt dime (the successor to the Mercury dime) features a torch on its reverse, with bands at the top and bottom. To qualify for NGC’s Full Torch (FT) designation, both pairs of these bands must show full separation, and the vertical lines of the torch must be defined." https://coinweek.com/dealers-compan...dime (the successor,the torch must be defined. Here's an example of a Full Torch (FT) Rosey. Your coin is beautiful, but I'm not 100% sure about the separation of the lower band. If it's not FT...it's close!
This is the best picture I can find of the 1960-D/D FS-501... https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1960-d-10c-rpm-fs-501/395089 My guess is that your coin is not an FS-501, but I'm not a Roosevelt varieties expert.
It's not an FS-501. Here is the V V page for '60-D RPM's http://varietyvista.com/07 Roosevelt Dimes/RPMs 1960D.htm
