so doing another box of pennies. I got them all sorted in tubes by date starting with 1960 all the way up to 2019. and the very first penny i pull out of the first tube is this nice looking 1960 D i will let you see for your self's and for thos of you wanting to know how a sort my coin's this is the pic
There we go. I couldn't see it in the first pictures but that 2nd one at an angle is perfect. Congrats!
thanks so what should I do? not sure if I should send it in to be graded what do you all think the value would be
PCGS has a MS63 at $125 and MS65 at $185. Yours appears to be about XF with a little damage , so probably in 70-80 range. For some reason the RPM is very light on the second D , which had me and FF a little concerned I am sure. Excellent pull from circulation. Jim
When I obtained my first one from a dealer, it was MS-65PCGS and I paid over $400 about 2008, and has gone down as more are graded population. But most interesting coin DD that I can think of having. Jim
I have a question. The small date 1960 D are good to keep too right? Because I think I have one. I can start another thread if you'd want me to. Or are they meant to be spent?
Personally, I keep them. I don't come across them that often. Worth much? No. But I still hold onto em.
It's OK to hold so you have an example of what to look for (1960-P). But the Denver has no value. Impressed that the OP was able to find this in circulation after 60 years.
I think it is. The small is more of an oval shape and the large is round. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1960smalldate.html
