1960 D DDO Lincoln's face? First box ever

    Can anyone take a look at the attached 1960 D Lincoln Center my daughter and I found in our very first box of pennies ever. I'm not sure if doubling on his face is normal but take a look:

    I'm not seeing a doubled die but look closer at the mint mark. It may be a lighting artifact but it appears as a split serif at the bottom, a possible re-punched mint mark? Can anyone else see this?

    I see what you mean, the entire front of the portrait looks like I see an extra outline. However I think this is what is called Machine Doubling, where the die slipped just a bit as it withdrew.

    You might also notice from 1960-1964, some machine doubling that looks similar at the throat of Lincoln.
