Hi jeankay: First- THANKS! and yeah- sometimes you get so engrossed with one thing you end up overlooking somethingelse which is exactly what I did here! From what I understand, if you do not request the TPG to attribute both the D/D and die rotation, they are not going to do it on their own. They will only grade etc what you request/pay for,so I think in this case, maybe they did , and then again, maybe they did not notice it, but since the original owner never requested/ paid to have it labeled as a die rotation also, they did not do it, and as such, are not responsible for missing anything. I contacted NGC this morning. Even though I told them I was not the original owner, they will permit me to resubmit under designation services for a fee of only $10.00, but also advised me that ANY die rotation errors must be a minimum of 15 Degrees off before they will label it as a valid error. I measured this coin with a protractor and I keep coming up at 20 Degrees off, so I'm going to send it in for attribution. How can you go wrong for the extra $10.00 plus postage etc to have this coin have a double attribution on it. I bid on this coin along with 7 other slabbed coins in a package deal on Ebay around a month ago and won. (Paid a total of $120.00 including the shipping etc for all 8 coins- approx $15.00 per slabbed coin) but this was not the coin I was really interested in, it was a ICG Graded MS67 1999D Pennsylvania State Quarter that I wanted. Go figure? Anyway- Thanks again! Chuck.
