In 1959 the design of the cent changed after forty years of a previous design. A lot of folks purchased rolls of the new cent and tucked them away for later generations to enjoy..... Now sixty years later many of these old tucked away rolls of cents are finding their way back into circulation. It’s fun to find a sixty year old coin in your change that almost looks new. Nice find!

Either that; or that penny may have been one of the first bits of spare change dropped into the five-gallon water jug(maybe glass) sitting next to the TV, way back when!

I personally have a BU roll of 1963 Jeff nickels; some still in the roll and a certain, unremembered portion of them carefully sewn into a thick woolen sock, seperated from one another for protection and all in the same crumbling old shoe box with my Boy Scout patches and merit badge cards. Twelve years old. Me.

I have a 59 Lincoln cent that did the same thing. It really stands out from the others. It has that deep red toning, and not BU/GEM red either. And it's only the 59 I seen do that, and I have tons of Lincoln cents.

Tell you that a coin worth face value is worth 27,000. The post was directed at @Profit man since I directed it to him and you can notify people by using the @ sign. Welcome to CT, most advice here is good even if occasionally sarcastic. :)

I think you should create your own thread if you have a question about your coin.
