1959-D Stuck thur grease

    I think someone or something has contaminated the cent. Just because the coin was in an "original" roll does not mean that no one or nothing has ever touched it to cause it to tone.

    And vice versa, grease on the die does not necessarily cause the coin to tone. Grease was likely involved with this one, but it is still full red. http://www.cointalk.com/forum/members/rlm-s-cents/albums/61/3226/

    rlm you have good point!

    there may have been a pin hole some ware but not seen
    but the roll was sealed in a coin tube at my bank safety deposit box this is the only non red coin.

    it very well can be a alloy problem with in the mixture of the metals at the mint but a red color>i have my doubts. I would say it; may be enviormental damage because the coin dosn't look uncirculated to me from a unc roll
