1959 D Jefferson Nickel, CUD IN THE CENTER OF THE D?

    I pulled this from Grandma's bag of "oddities". Look at the D. I got as close as I could, but it looks like a raised line, right in the middle of the D. It doesn't appear to be repunched, but perhaps a cud? Interesting.

    Yep the center post broke, This is most common on the late 70's Lincolns.

    It is not a cud. A cud is a break along the rim that extends into the field.
