I said it appears to have taken a hit, PMD and I stand by that. Not trying to be rude but just telling you what I see.

FYI, in 1958 the date wasn't "punched," it was engraved. Just like the others, all I'm seeing is DDD or it took a hit.

I looked at the glossary of coin terms and could not find FYI!
Did you saw a tail like in the bottom of 8 and the line in the second loop of 8?
You can look at the last two red pictures.

I do not see what you see. Fyi is short for "for your information".

You should invest in a free account at Heritage, and investigate other sites that have a trove of coin images. The first thing you do when you think you've discovered something is go look for other examples. It took me very little time to find more coins with the same anomaly in the upper left of 8, so probably something on a working hub that produced many working dies, and that wisp of something inside the lower loop is probably a die polish line. It's interesting, but one thing it is not is an 8 over 9.

Thank you, but what about the tail of the "nine"? I uploaded a clearer picture.

Not a doubled die strike. Why does every newbie come here and insist that they have some doubled die coin? It is ludicrous.

Look at your own image that I reposted. There is nothing there but a random dot, among all the other random dots. There's probably 500 years of collecting experience in the responses here, not a single person agrees with you, and yet you persist.

I noticed that what you reposted, is not showing what actually I posted, that is why I uploaded a new clearer picture and you did not respond to it! And you are referring to other people's comments! I know what is their job. Please, if you want to reply, just according to my coin's facts in pictures for now.

If you're so convinced you have a 1958 over 1959 Lincoln Cent, why not send it in for authentication. John A. Wexler is an expert on Doubled Dies, Overdates, RPMs, etc. Below is how you can contact him:
