Bad timing on my post to follow yours. Just clarifying that I am not that guy you're referring to right???
Oh gosh no. His handle was something similar to TNAFguy or something like that. He was being "cute" about how he turned a PF70 NGC graded nickel blue while it was IN A SLAB. BTW, your early 60's blues. Are they all proofs, or are there business strikes too? The noticeably, but not radically, blue 1962 proof I have is in my 1950-1964 proof nickel holder, just as the 1961 is a little yellow-greenish. I included them specifically because those colors are often seen for those years. "It's all about the story."
I have been without a desktop PC at home for months now, so almost all my posting, pictures, everything, are done via my phone. It is possible, but frustrating at times. I do long for a mouse, keyboard, and monitor very often. But on the other hand, it's nice to have full functionality on the go, and be able to post and upload and all that stuff while standing in line at the post office.
This thread has mesmerized me. I been collecting my whole life and I can't recall ever running into a blue hued nickel. Or maybe I am just more color blind than I thought.
All proofs and think they range from 61-63 with the 63's being the bluest as in gun metal blue. Of course I have some of the rainbow toned ones too, but I'm proudest of the blues (music too).
I just came across one of my blue 63's and although I know this isn't your cup o' joe, it is a DDR of which variety I haven't narrowed down yet. Only a few dozen varieties for that year but still one none the less.
So you like the Blues also? Incidentally, I write Blues tunes. Check this site out : www.reverbnation.com/hookmanbrown
Depends on how easy the DDR is to see. My general rule is that if it’s in the Red Book (regular, not Mega), I care about it. Otherwise? No. If it’s not even in MegaRed, “I throw doggie poopie on it”.
Sweet! Couple of old musicians around here...... Sorry bout the thread derail. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.....
Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughn are my top three but of course there's many more. I'll check it out and in return check out my son's band "Phantom Queens". Not really bluesy but worth a listen. Yep, completely hijacked the thread, sorry 58D.
Yes, you are correct, Sir ! Def not Blues...more death metal growl. I started a video that turned out to be over an hour long. Needless to say, I didn't watch it all, but what I heard was good , but what I saw was mostly one guy sitting on a sofa in the basement strumming an electric guitar that wasn't plugged in, so I don't really know if what I heard was them or not. They have a Facebook page and I posted a message and recommend that everyone should check them out. BTW, the first link for "Phantom Queens" that I clicked on turned out to be 3 young girls who like to play dress up. When you google "Hookman Brown" you also get links that aren't me. Nooowwww , back to the coins >>>>>>
