Got one more for anyone wanting to answer, I found this '57 penny while going through some bulk wheat cents I had purchased recently. I do not know how to categorize this coin, since I feel I have seen cases such as this, but they may have been different. Wasn't sure if this was an error of some kind or someone having a field day with some wheat cents and silver paint. Thanks for looking!
Glad to see it found a new home!! If you CRH, you'll eventually find the plated coinage. Mostly the gold nickels from the home shopping network sets. But you'll get copper coated nickels and mercury/plated/painted cents and coins. My favorite plated coin to find in circulation: 1943 copper plated Steelie.
You spend some time playing with quick silver too as a child? It is a wonder that we are all still alive given what society is warning us about now.
Yeah that would be quite the find, just retire right then and there lol, if we are thinking of the same coin.
I found one myself and it did get the heart skipping for a brief moment. But the copper plate was too bright looking so the heart returned to a normal beat rather quickly. Confirmed later with the magnet.
