1956 d magnetic?

    It must have a piece of ferrous metal imbedded in it. PMD.

    Looks like a few attempts on the obverse and a drill skidding across above Liberty.
    Another attempt on the reverse and the tip of the drill bit broke off and was left embedded.

    Just another dumb guess.
    I don't know if a hot welding bead/spark would melt that far into the coin?

    As stated above, most likely just a PMD and I would tend to lean towards the BB or pellet theory as causing it to be magnetic, but like others, merely a guess on my part. Certainly not a mint error so NAV, No Added Value.
