Went through pennies I gathered through my life and came across this die crack. Let me know what you think. Thanks

The coin looks to have surface damage from an acidic substance. Damaged enough that a die crack makes little difference…imo…Spark

I can see the crack but the coin has been damaged as noted.

This. Maybe that's a die crack (I can't really tell), but the coin is so corroded it's a moot point. I'm afraid that one's only worth face value as-is.

Thank you everyone for your responses. Looks like if I had to guess, this coin was most likely pissed on (ammonia), or a caustic substance got to it and it was cleaned at some point in its life. Probably covered with the same residue left around the U on the obverse. I have seen NJ Coppers that were so damaged you would have nightmares and maybe sprinkle a little, a one of 4 known sold for over $12,000 in that scary of a shape, just saying. What I'm interested in is the die crack and its placement, its not a secret where President Lincoln was shot. So what I'am gathering is a possible one off has no bearing because of coin condition, do I have that right? I'm not from the collectors world, just a gatherer.

Yes, the coin sat in something acidic. The crack is somewhat common, that is a common place for a die crack. They are called spike heads.
