Good question! I don't know.. I just quoted what the webpage stated. If I find out I will inform you unless someone else does. But def not a DDO!
I believe that at one point either ICG or maybe SEGS would list the attribution "Poor Man's Double Die" on their grading label. I don't think ANACS ever did, and I'm not sure any of the grading services do it any longer.
Bonnie Sue.. I like your enthusiasm. Keep searching, they are out there. If you send me a PM with your mailing info I will send you an RPM. (I send out a lot of them when people join CONECA)
this may be a stupid question "BUT" I'm going to ask anyway, IT's The Canadian in me...LOL Do they call it a BIE error because the error puts a I between the B and the E ??????????
It's not a stupid question it's a great question. It's not actually a letter I but the die break makes it look like the letter I a bit. There are also Die Breaks found in other locations of the word LIBERTY.. So you can find LII, IIB, EIR, RIT, and TIY just depends where the Die Break occurs. Some collectors don't even recognize it as an error. Grading companies won't even attribute it as an error if you send it to them. Better to keep it set apart and enjoy it for yourself. Oh and sometimes the break can occur in more than one spot on LIBERTY.. so you can find a LIIBIERTY.. crazy right?
