I see nothing to suggest the coin is fake. However, there are some VERY deceptive copies of this particular issue. I would send it to NGC or PCGS to have it authenticated.
I posted a few on this thread: http://www.cointalk.com/showthread.php?t=169163&p=1156945 and will post a picture of the rest tomorrow
It looks real to me, playing around with a bit of contrast I believe I can make out the V in the shadows. The incuse scatches under the left arm of the T in CENT are not visible, but they are often hidden in images that diffuse their lighting. Here is a huge image - if you expand all the way up - you can barely make out VDB - It loads very slow - so wait for it. To the OP - I think the consensus here is it is genuine, however I noticed that you uploaded your image to here which has a 250k limitation. Consider hosting at it an image site, or send to me email at full file size and I can post it at the highest resolution of the original camera image you got.
Did grandpa happen to leave you a Saint Gaudens $20 Double Eagle dated 1933??? If so, I'd be willing to trade you my whole collection for it! ..........
looks solid to me but look at the lower left on lincolns coat are where it meets the edge it's also a doubled and the compare picture don't have that doubling. anyone see that? not saying it's suspect but rather an observation.
