Maybe my book should be the Bellman Variety Detector, so all my finds can be listed on slabs as BVD's.
Agree NOT a DDO. Was researching '55 Phillys yesterday, Wexler has 10 obverse and 12 reverse varieties listed, including proofs. So, for business strikes like OldSchool101s there had to be at least 7 die pairs obverse and 3 die pairs for obverse proofs. Very much the same for the reverse, as he lists 8 business strike reverse varieties versus 4 proof reverse. I could be way off on die pair quantity though. If they played musical chairs with the die pairs, mixing new obverse with old reverse as they did their production runs, and as they wore out, then only the Mint would have the documentation on how many were used for this specific year. This seems logical but I'm here to learn, let me know if my ignorance is showing (again?)...Spark
