Hello. I’m wondering if this penny is Doubled in the obverse. On the 1955 date, and on Lincoln’s nose mouth and chin? Also when I get home from work I will add photos of the in god we trust I thought I had taken photos of that, but I didn’t. Thank you

No, I’m afraid. That’s just the way the thing weathered.

No it's not a DDO. You need this.

Could he maybe have the poor man version?

Since I only see a portion of the coin obverse, I suspect it is a die deterioration doubling event and of 1 cent value. The "ST" of the "TRUST" and the last of the date indicates that. Jim

Yes he does, but the "Poor Man's DDO" is Die Deterioration Doubling, not a true Doubled Die.

You have given the correct answer.

It is not a Doubled Die variety. Just die Deterioration.

I remember the 1955 craze but I caught it in the mid 60’s. I ain’t that old yet. Thanks paddy !!! Been awhile since I’ve saw one

Only the last 5 is doubled and it’s known as a Poor Man’s Doubled Die. It’s double from a tired worn die so not a true doubled die.
