1955 d double die ect. help

  1. i just found this in my change. look between the E and PL. it looks like an p or an m shadow. and there appears to be slight empressions of wheat ears or scratches parrall to each other. can anyone tell me anything please

    By your description, I'm not seeing anything other than a circulated coin with wear and scratches. And as far as the "shadow" is concern, you might be seeing a slight die clash between the E and PL in E PLURIBUS, which would be a line through the centerline of the word PLURIBUS. That would be the bottom of Lincoln's bust on the obverse die which clashed with the reverse die, trading a bit of each other's images.
