1955 cud?

    I don't see a cud. There appears to be a die chip on the "E" in LIBERTY.

    I don't see a cud either. The die chip is minor.

    Maybe a die chip but definitely not a cud. (A cud includes the rim.)

    I agree on the die chip, but not your definition of cud. Straight from PCGS;

    To me a "complete break" means rim to rim.

    A die that has broken rim-to-rim but stikes a coin with the broken piece retained in place so that the broken piece of the die strikes up the design on the coin (maybe weakly, maybe fairly strongly) produces a retained cud (that includes the rim).

    A die that has broken rim-to-rim and the broken piece has fallen away (or otherwise is incapable of striking up a coin) produces a cud (that includes the rim).

    A cud includes the rim. PCGS's definition is just poorly worded.

    I agree. That definition was probably written by a committee.
