It looks good 65, but I guess 64. You allways gotta wonder what Paddy is up too, It could be the Bugs.

    The contact marks, boss. MS64.

I think that wing is interesting. Look at how it's gone while the foot is still there.

65 no FBL (by TODAY'S PCGS/NGC standards, FROM THE IMAGES that looks like a 66). Looks like a Bugs variant.

And the winner is Skyman ! MS-66 now the rest of the story paid $12 @ local coin shop. Kinda knew she would go higher than the price paid. Now I recall from Heavycam.monstervam post it was a bugs and made a note of that.....however shuffling coins around to send in I forgot to add it to the variety list when having it written up.
The Anacs rep. was at the show and I gave him the coins to process as I was working the show. Duh! Oh well still a win....as it is an FS-401 in ms-66 only 4 pop. 1 in 63, 2 in 64,and 1 in 65. Now mine in 66. Five total now, this one top pop in 66. A ( URS of 6 ) 17-32 known.
Not sure of the value of the bug's variety would add. However in MS-66 I'm seeing around a $200+/- coin not bad return on a $12 purchase.
    now in 66 FBL it's a $1500. Coin! It's not a FBL but it's a near FBL coin.

Dave to be honest I was at 65 on this coin when I purchased it....knowing it was better than a 63/64 coin. For the price....that's why I decided to throw another ten spot in her to see if my hunch would pay off having her graded.
And do agree that this same coin graded back in the day wouldn't of graded a 66,because of a different grading guide.

    That's a huge score for $12! :woot:

Dave any idea of the bug's variety value?
I've seen prices all over the map on these and must admit maybe that's due to the grade differences.

Very good! Not so long ago I sent a Franklin to ANACS that I thought was a gem, but it came back 64.

No idea on that one. The only bugs I have is the '55.

I believe, being a top pop, youre a squoze light on the price, obviously the man at the end of the rainbow would be someone putting a set of Bugs together (which people do, i know of 1 guy).I know you wont sell, but to get top $ it needs to be labeled on the slab (doh! Is right in this case) IIRC 54p 55p 56p are the most common bugs bunnies, and the others are alot tougher to come by. Here is an ebay listing i found- to get an idea of value

    BTW, numismedia lists the 54S @ $169 in MS66 w/o the fs401:greedy::greedy::greedy:
Nice $12 pickup, i like the eye appeal 2:shifty:

Yeah Heavy NGC price guide has the 54 s in MS -66 at $245.00I'm sure that the variety as well as the color should bring what $300 +/- neighborhood?

FWIW, MANY prices on the NGC price guide for Franklins are ridiculously high, particularly for the non-FBL Franklins. Compare them with PCGS's price guide. In general you'll get more money for a comparable coin in a PCGS slab as opposed to a NGC slab, yet almost across the board the NGC price guide shows higher prices than the PCGS price guide. A non-FBL 1954-S in PCGS MS66 shows a price guide listing of $160.

Of course... that's still a great profit from $12 (plus slabbing fees).

See that's what I was thinking as I know NGC guide is inflated. Not knowing the value of the attribution of the bug's bunny....I was thinking about $200.00. And by all means.....I'll take that kind of return on my money any day.:)

I still don't think it rises to a 66, but it is what it is. Congratulations. Where is Jason Poe when you need him.
