I got this NGC slabbed error beauty today. I always wanted one of these Large Struck Through types
Description: This Franklin half is struck through a piece of string on it’s reverse, with the threads and fibers from the string clearly visible in the strike through area. Although not noted on the NGC holder, that is what it is. Like and Enjoy! :wideyed: 50-03.jpg 50-01.jpg 50-05.jpg

Cool...the impressions left by the fibers are really interesting!

Makes you wonder.. How the heck a piece of string that huge would get into the mint like that? Maybe someone was mopping to hard nearby and one of the mop strings flew up and into the Franklins being minted?

Now that is cool! Unfortunately, it won't make FBL.

That's OK. I'm just going for the error! You can't see the Liberty Bell Crack neither! String landed right on the crack.

Paddyman, I have to say that you have one of the nicest error collections I have seen on here. Most struck though errors are just grease but something stuck though such a strange object is just incredible. I was also amazed at your error album.

Must have been cold in the Mint that day - looks like an end frill from a loom made scarf

Not usually a big fan of error coins, but this is pretty neat!

Neat error coin. For an impression that deep, I'd say it's not string. Gotta be something harder like a frayed piece of stranded wire or metal cable.
