So, I'm still a bit new to collecting, and I know very little about errors. I do understand the various errors, as I've read up on them, but I haven't seen many at all in person. I realize there is still tons to learn, but I'm working on it. At any rate... I came across this in a cheap E-bay wheat roll, and It has two raised lines on it. On across the forehead, and another across the shoulder area. Would these be considered die cracks? Nice find. They are indeed die cracks. Fairly common place on Lincoln's head for cracks. I haven't seen very many with multiple cracks like that however

Thanks, TJ. I actually picked up a macro lens for my cell phone from Walmart for a few bucks. It really helps with photos. In the near future I'd like to get the light source and possibly a table sorted so I don't have to freehand.

This is what I use. I think I paid about 40 bucks. It's plenty for what I need it for. Plus, I'm using it in conjunction with an inventory database to catalog my collection.

Wow. I just watched a short video on that. That would certainly streamline things a lot.

Here you go. Lighting and focus takes a little practice but it's not bad.

Die cracks within Abe's head are called cracked skulls. They can be numerous on some dates. There's even an AB pattern which is really cool looking.

Die cracks running from Abe's head out to the rim are called spiked heads. There was a die from 1964 that had a spiked head running from the rim into Abe's nose. :p
