The 52 is darker. It has shadows. My photography stinks.
I will look that up. Thank you

Can it not still be gave a mint state? Will that not up the value?

Yes. It does look different. I am going to ask a coin dealer about the head and the shine.

Yes. I have a question for you. What is your opinion of this 1952-D quarter?

My opinion is that it is worth the silver content only. $4.20 as I write this. According to the Cherry Pickers Guide, there are 2 desirable varieties for thus date and MM. One is a "huge D" MM the other is doubling on the obverse. I can rule out the huge D from the position of the MM in your photos. Hard to tell if about the DDO from your pictures.

    Uhm, no.
Welcome to CT BTW. I think you've gotten your answers already. Nothing special. Worth melt.

Thank you for the welcome. Here is an image of what a small D and a large D are suppose to look like. The D on this 1952 is a bubble D. Thank you for your opinion.

The huge D mm is closer to the branch above. I believe yours is a normal mm.

Welcome to Coin Talk. Sorry, but your 1952 D Quarter is not a proof coin. All proof Washington quarters from 1932 to 1964 were struck at the Philadelphia Mint and have no mint mark on them. Your coin is a worn circulation strike and due to it's condition, worth little more than melt value. :)
