I bought this lot of error coins at an auction. I'm second guessing this one. The collector has it labeled on the 2X2 as a curved clip. I see metal folded over the Obverse which would make me believe it is not a clipped planchet. The reverse looks fine. The front........? What say you? That obverse screams damage. I've never seen a clip like that with the metal folded over.

Not a clipped planchet coin. Just filler for the lot.

The collector has some niceness clearly legit clipped planchets in there and some very large BIE errors. I’m pretty sure I scored a 72 DDO in one state or another. Nice lot!

This is not legit !! I looks like it has been Sheared! A clip would not have left folded metal
