I'm not sure, I just toss them into my mason jars unless I can fill a spot in the book. I have 2 mason jars of 60-63 1 jar of 50s 3/4 a jar of 40s and about 40 39 and 38s
No, I mean specifically the rolls where you found the 50-D. Was it in a full box, a part of a box, or just a few rolls that you got that day?
Cool... reason I was asking is because I got an EF 38-D, EF 38-S, and my AU 39-D out of 2 Loomis boxes which contained a total of 207 pre-60s.
I know when I first started I found a 1950. I didn't write down the mint mark though and I haven't been able to find the exact coin. Hopefully it was a 50D
Very likely it is a Philly. Both are hard to find, but this coin is extremely hard to find because it was also widely hoarded.
I have 2 rolls of 09-D. But they're Loomis wrapped so apparently they're not worth anything (as opposed to mint wrapped). Oh well. More for my nickel jar...
It doesn't matter who wrapped them. Fed/LOOMIS/etc... The last "bid" price I saw on them from the CDN was $13.
Never mind then, not for the nickel jar Too bad they're not 09-P, I've heard those go for quite a bit more
Nice Find! Kudos!!! I did notice some fingerprints on both sides though, yours or did you find it that way? I would wear gloves when handling a nice specimen like that, every day that goes by they are getting harder to find in that condition.
Given how he's handling it properly (by the edges) in the photo, I have to assume he found it that way.
