I'm trying out my new toy---a QX5 (thanks Rickie)...and one of the first shots I took was of a 1959-D nickel that had been changed to make it into a 1950. While this is pretty bold, and wouldn't fool most collectors, I can see how a new person, looking for a deal, would be sold this as the real deal! Speedy
It was modified by someone. (the tail of the 9 was removed.) The 0 is quite abit smaller, that it should be, and you can also see tool marks on it in that area. Someone took a knife or something and put a big X on the coin as well Speedy
That's hilarious. I never even thought of it. I can't imagine anyone but the greenest amateur being fooled such such nonsense.
I actually want one now. I've never come across one to my knowledge, but I'll have to be on the lookout.
