    AZ,
Well, ya got me. I just can't say for sure from the pictures you posted, but you should now be able to make a better call with
    the images TheNickelGuy posted.
Good Luck, it's worth a few bucks if its the real thing.

Sometimes we can tell by the die scratches from polishing or dots on the coin that are caused by the dies or an occasional die gouge or crack. I have identified varieties this way. I have a great book someplace around here but have sort of drifted away from the Jefferson nickel for awhile and concentrated on other coins. If I find some more info I will post.

I dunno, mine is on the left, yours I reworked and placed on the right. I can't say for sure. I am split on whether it is or isn't right down the middle, maybe leaning a bit to saying it is.

Here, I went and looked at the page in my book and took a shot of it.

I like the placement of the mintmark, I like the little point off the top of the step area on the right. I like the direction of the lines to the left of the D, I like the shape of the inside of the D. I like that hole or fairly large dent off to the right of the top of the D. Now I am leaning to 75% that you might have one. Get my drift about the markers on the dies and how they leave other details?

This is fantastic!! I'm right with ya' on all points. I was looking at the same. Really big thanks for the follow up with great info and merging our two pics. :) Awesome!! Kind of allowing myself to be a little excited now. But not too much.

I think maybe if you set your camera to macro ( flower ) and set the timer, set the camera down and tilt the coin to show the left side of the D better, maybe shoot a bit upward, and set the camera on high megapixels using a hand held light and not the flash, you might get a good image where we can all jump up and down for. :b8nce:
