Yep. Dark toning. You can see this kind of color on Lincolns often. Not sure it's the result of "more oxidation" of the copper(?), or just what happens to coins when they get more dirty over time. Perhaps try some Koinsolv (or however you spell that product name), or Verdi Care on it and see what happens?
