Hello all, I came across a penny the other day and wanted to share the image with you all and get your opinion. I know exactly zero about coin collecting. My late father was a novice coin collector. He passed in 2017 and I inherited his coins plus a plethora of clocks. Anywho, got a little off track there. Take a look at the coin and I would love to hear what you seasoned collectors have to say. I appreciate your time.
Looks like a strike-through with a lot of circulation wear. I don’t know any value but the extensive wear is definitely going to detract…imo…Spark (psst!…work on your pics. They are slightly out of focus and need cropping to show the coin only)
Looks like a struck through to me as well. It’s also circulated a lot and that lowers the value. It’s a mint error but not worth a lot.
10-4 will do. Nice to see another Hog fan in the area. I live in North Little Rock. Better pics to follow, well hopefully better ones.
I totally agree. Also, I feel these are strange errors in that they are kind of like what I'll call "Mint errors". Not ones that are the most desirable like some of the one's we've seen here and there and everywhere.
That is a Lamination. Planchet issue. Nice one. Here is an example on a Wheat Cent from my collection..
Here's about as good as I can get the image to look. How do you guys take pics and make them look good? Thanks
paddyman98, So you sent yours off to be graded, how much does that cost and how long does it take them? I assume with the grading of the coin, if you were to sell it, it would probably bring a higher sale price than if it wasn't graded? Thanks for sharing your coin image. Have a good one.
I will say that the thing by his face is an indention in the coin. It doesn't protrude out like Lincoln does.
