Is this a 1946 war nickel and if so what is it worth?

No. And your pictures are pretty bad. You need to take better, in focus, pictures if you want to know things about your coins.
FYI, war nickels were only minted from 42-45.

    What exactly makes you think:
    1) that it is a "war" nickel, and
    2) that it is an "error coin"?

P.S. FYI, the war ended in 1945

I noticed that it looked strange so I googled it and came across a similar coin that looks like this one and it was a 1946 war nickel transitional error coin there has only been 4 found but it says that more are out there and I compared it to war nickel from 38 and 42 and they look almost identical. I have had a few other people who know about coins look at it and they agreed that I could be right but none of them are experts so I was wondering if someone could give me some information on what I have

How are you so sure? I compared it to a real war nickel and it looks just like it and It is nothing like a normal nickel

Above montecello would be the mint mark if it was a war nickel

You have a nickel. There is nothing special about it.

    What does it weigh?
I only ask because I wonder how much research you have done to be able to make a decision?

From what I have been told both nickels would weigh 5g so weight would not be a way to check

They could be valuable if your coin was under or over weight

I did edit my post above. You are correct they would weigh the same.
