1946 copper looking nickel

    Hi guys i have 2 1946 nickels and one is a cooper looking and the other norm is this a transitional error thanks

    Looks like it spent some time underground and had a chemical reaction with the soil.

    Thanks i thought a dye error. I have seen this before with a dime.

    error with yourself- die error- I never think I heard they dyed coins

    A transitional (off metal) error would be a 1946 on a 1945 silver nickel planchet.
    These metals rust and look like that all the time.
