1945 penny with lines running diagonal

    These lines appear to be raised. And the reverse looks like plaid.

    Harshly cleaned is my guess. Normally these types are worth about 3 cents,
    but if has been scrubbed causing those lines on the portrait, 1 cent face value. You can see on the reverse how the color is off. That is also a result of using certain cleaning solvents (which shouldn't be used). They probably cleaned some crud off of it. As it still has some leftover dark spots on both sides that didn't come off. On the obverse the top layer of metal has been scraped off, revealing a lighter color underneath where the scrub lines are.

    Suggestion.. If you think you have something special then post in the Error Coins forum. First find out what it could be. Worry about value last.
