1944 Wheat D over S ??????????

    A dealer claims this is a real D/S, As I consider all you guys and gals are the true experts, I would appreciate opinions.

    When the picture is enlarged I kind of could tell there is evidence of a worn Die Strike. The mint mark is probably affected because of the deterioration.

    If that dealer thinks it is a D/S, then sell it to him.

    I agree with the above posts, one way to tell is a close up with a crop down to the mint mark.

    i found 2 D/S listed for 1944 and yours matched neither of them...besides that i see no indication of an rpm on yours...
