Actually, if he has had this coin for 9 decades, it is a rare coin indeed. Until now we really didn't know exactly what the 1944 steel cents looked like that were minted during or before 1930.
People are so horrible... I feel bad for the people who are just starting their collections or are just a tad oblivious and buy multi thousand dollar coins that are fakes
