1944 steel cent

    I was curious because I would think electroplating the strip would be difficult if it was in long coils. Plating strips would be easier. I also wasn't sure if they would have had the equipment for handling large coils. Just checked out a video from 1940 and it shows that they did use individual strips for feeding the blanking press, but they were 35 foot strips (or at least that was the length the rolled the bronze cent ingots to.) They may have cut them shorter for easier handling at the blanking press.
