1944 possible error penny it has a weird texture to it

    do you mean the smaller deck guns or the big 15, 16 inch main guns? The main guns don't use casings.

    Ok. Not powder kegs. Guns with shells. They had to massive. I would like to know some more info. How big were the biggest bullets on the Iowa?

    Five inch diameter(127 mm) 27 inches (680 mm) long These were "bullets" projectile and propellent containing shell casing. They weighed 24 to 25 kg.
