I have a 1944 Fifty Centavos that was my grandfather's. From what I've read there should be an S in between the date and the word United. I've looked and can't find any trace. Was this coin minted somewhere else?
Ive tried to take pictures of different angles for you guys. I think we need more pictures of the coin.

Seriously though, your coin has no mintmark because it was minted in Philadelphia. The mint there historically does not use mintmarks on (most of) it's coins. The ones with the S mintmark were minted in San Francisco.

This date (and type for that matter) was only minted at San Francisco.

For what it's worth, there does appear to be a small bump where the mint mark should be on your coin. It's likely just weakly struck there.

I don't see anything raised in that area.
There is a small spot to the right of where the mint mark should be where it's not oxidized, just like the spot in between the words States and Of.
I'll get out my camera and see if it does a better job with close up's than my phone did.

Yeah that's the spot that's not oxidized. The mint mark would be further left.
