It is a 1944 penny it does not have a mint mark of D or S. I only washed the dirt from the coin no other cleaning. The Penny is an odd color kinda pink looking. I weighed it and it weighs 2.8 grams. It does not stick to a magnet. It is noticeably thinner than other bronze 1944 cents. I weighed another 1944 cent I had , it weighed 3.11 grams. All the research I have done so far makes me think I might have lucked up and dug a steel 1944 EXCEPT for the fact that it does not stick to a magnet which makes me wonder if this is a 1944 struck on a foreign planchet. What do y&#039;all think? The cent in question is on the right the&nbsp; penny on left is a regular 1944 cent for comparison. I am interested to see what your ideas are !
