I too am not seeing it. Could you take a picture straight down on the date? Also, does your coin have any of the markers that are shown on the site?
It looks like a bunch of gunk, not sure that it is a die marker. Some of the date, besides the thickness looks like die deterioration to me, but you have the coin in hand. Variety Vista has a few other looks that you could compare yours to. http://varietyvista.com/01a LC Doubled Dies Vol 1/DDO 1944.htm
Maybe!!! The 9 looks right. You really have to check the die markers. Im not gonna say 100 But, I think its
The die gouge shown on Wexler's appears higher and only half across on the right hand upright, while the gouge on your coin shows near the bottom and completely across. Can you match any other die markers?
Not really. I have a photo of the nose but I can’t tell if anything is there. I’ve gotten other opinions and it’s def a doubled die. I can’t decide if it’s Coppercoins 008 or 005. It would help a ton if you could let me know your opinion
So lets look at the characteristics of " IN " from the OP thread . Now lets looks at the characteristics of " IN " from stage D . Ding, ding . we have a winner ......
Excepting, perhaps, the big one, the 1943, these Class 6s are often so subtle as to many times I suspect defy detection. I wanted to see LIBERTY to see if the letters were bent in the right direction, and they are. Thanks. Again, these are very subtle DDs we're messing with, here.
