I haven't seen anything on both sides being doubled listed on any of the listing sites. It appears that the "doubling" is on both sides of the devices which is normally a good sign of DDD, Die Deterioration Doubling, IMO

The Doubling is probably due to it looking re-plated. IMO. Jim

I would have to say it is Die Deterioration Doubling.

@2manyhobbies make sure your not over pixelated (12mp max 4.3 size) and crop pics to rid them of unwanted area. Set HDR to auto. Hope this helps.

You can just imagine how fast the dies wore out striking steel

Classic example of an overused die. It was 1943, and the US was recycling more than they do today. In was WWII and the Cents were made of steel instead of copper. The dies were used longer than normal. This caused a lot of issues. Your coin is classics DDD or worn dies from that time period.

OP probably went back and edited his post to add more, or some of those might be collages put together with photo editing software.

    I'll take a closer look.

    EDIT: Looks like PPE . . . . . . . "post post editing"

    Yes of course, I was just taking it a step too far . . . . . .

Adding to the absurdity, as I typically do.
