1943 steel Lincoln cents

I told one of the ladies at my LCS that I was going to buy some their 25 cent steelies to give to my nephews and nieces and she gave me 10 for free.

That about sums it up.
For educational experience, fool around with them and see what works to improve an already poor condition coin.

 

My Dad had a bunch of them. My brother and split them. My half included 143 (P), 44 D, and 4 S. My brother got the same in our split. All his coins are one of those water bottles that are put in a water dispenser upside down. I never did go through them. I had more fish to fry.

How nice, and you can’t argue with the price.

 

You can use them as a training tool during the cleaning process. They have pretty much seen the best years already. After cleaning you can still spend them. Good luck.
