I know this is not a real penny but why was this made? Part of a set? Was it really made in 1943? Just curious.
That's a steel penny they were made in 1943 only to save materials for the war effort. It is a real penny and can be spent like any other coin. But I recommend that you keep it as it is cool and a part of history. Edit I didn't see the picture fully it's a knock of made in China not legal tender

The real question here is- why fake a common 1943 steel cent? The only ‘43 fakes I’ve commonly seen imitate the copper, rather than steel planchet coin.
I wonder if it was supposed to be a caricature of someone else for a joke of some sort... because it really doesn't look like Lincoln... and I'm not sure that it's supposed to look like Lincoln...
I also have one of these....Did anyone find it to have any value? From the comments it does not appear so
