Agreed. A normal steel cent with typical corrosion. The coin is basically worth face value. It probably technically is worth a couple cents but nobody would buy it for that.
Hello, Insearch..... You may not be aware but 1943 our nation was committed to a world war and copper was a vital war material. So that one year the US Mint produced steel cents in lieu of the normal copper cents. Yes, it is quite real and yes it represents a special place in our nations history. Is it worth much? No not really. Way cool piece of history though!
Almost all 1943 cents were struck on a steel and zinc planchet to decrease copper usage in coinage and increase the ammount available for ammo. These coins aren't rare, unless certified as MS67 or higher. Here are some of mine that I found in higher grades. They're all AU except for the 43-s.
