If you are taking members comments as offensive, maybe it's how you are reading them, or how you worded your question. I know that some of us have days when our patience is thin, or our humor is mistaken, but this site gives you the best coverage of knowledgable members that I've found so far.
Hi Jskee, The 1943 cent is a special composition coin (zinc plated steel) rather than copper based. Their lifetime can be short because of the chemical reactivity of the zinc and the steel. The coin was cut from zinc plated steel strips before minting into coins, so the edges will show steel ( some with red rust from oxidation) or spots on the zinc. So before worrying about grades or doubling, check the edge. It should be dull grey of steel, not the more reflective surface of zinc. If the edges and the obverse/reverse are the same , it has been replated. Either by companies or school chemistry experiments. Your coin shows no evidence of a doubled die coin. But the doubling appearance is either from replating or mechanical doubling, neither which have value. Jim
