Gotta disagree, I think a $5 or $10 is more impressive and has a lower premium.
And here's an obverse die in 3 pieces.

I'm surprised that die was still being used. Looks like it is ready to fall apart. Really nice coin.
Nice purchase if you got them cheap enough.
My theory is the San Francisco mint didn't receive enough dies for production that year.
I would think that die came out of service in pieces, and this is not the only obverse die that had cracks from rim to rim.
