1943 Penny “4” is extremely faded ..? Opinion

    I have some just like that - the 4 is completely gone. The experts will give us the scope.

    Grease filled die was my first thought. My second thought is I need to go thru all my ‘43 cents and see if I have any like that.lol

    Those circulated steelies are very susceptible to corrosion.
    If that color is true, this coin appears to have been cleaned.
    The missing 4 is common. Greaser.

    Yeah go check them out ..I have like 50 of these 1943 penny’s but this one was special lol. And no I don’t clean any coins and it looks natural old.

    I didn't say you cleaned it. It's over 75 years old, and the color suggests that somebody cleaned it.
