Going through a nickel roll and came across a 1943 P which has a copper finish on the rim. I have weighed it and it weighs 4.9 g. What do you guys think?

    Wartime nickels were 56% copper.

Typical yellowish tint on some war nickels. It's the manganese alloyed with the silver and copper that causes this.

No copper layer. War nickels are an alloy, not clad or plated

First, welcome to the neighborhood, JR!

Just so you know, it is considered proper etiquette to start your own thread rather than hijack that of another.

With that said, your photo is a little blurry. Can you take a better photo for your own thread?

I was thinking about that as 1943 they were not using copper for much of anything besides bullets.
