1943 Mercury Oil on Die?

    Hello everyone, first time post here.

    I got some Mercury dime rolls the other day and found this one. Looks to me as oil on die, not a break. Regardless, it is the coolest error I've seen! Looks like an x-ray of the neck. There's a second error up on the left and some pits on the back. Please let me know what you think about it and how it was produced and maybe approximate value.

    Welcome
    2015 - 1943 = 72 years !
    All I see is an old worn coin with possible PMD.. post mint damage
    And the term is "struck through grease" which yours is not

    If it's a PMD, wouldn't the rim show it in both places?

    Post Mint Damage means it was damaged outside of the Mint sometime between 1943 and now. Your Dime is not an error.. sorry

    If you look carefully you actually can see damage on the rim also sloping down a bit

    This one looks like it was caught by someone"dirt fishing" I've found ones like it(pitted) when detecting farm fields heavily fertilized...
