So dark and beset with gunk, it took great effort to make out what it was! So, after a luxury bath in diluted vinegar, this beauty emerges: The teller at the bank eyed me with much suspicion, as she refused to accept it for deposit! But, then I thought back. As a kid, finding not only a wheat penny in circulation, but a STEELIE! WOW!! Only happened to me 3 or 4 times and never quite like this! In 52 years, I have never come across a steelie that rode the elevator all the way down to AG and lived to tell about it. What a trooper! Really hung in there for the long haul, huh?! So you see, kids, our present day "Zincoln" isn't the first time our mint has churned out crappy coins that melt in the rain! Other countries get aluminum coins, but us? Noooooo!
